FASHIONEDITORIAL:Reference:

While I can’t empirically prove any direct correlation, it seems logical to suggest that the mainstream release of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has had some impact on fashion in general, and this shoot in particular. Those things traditionally considered alternative – piercings, punk mohawk hairstyles – are no longer so. It’s a blurred boundary these days and films like Dragon Tattoo only push the point further. The point being: subcultures can inspire the mainstream, too. This time, it comes in the form of luxury high fashion, toughed up and sprinkled with the kaleidoscopic shimmer of ’80s glam. Natalie Wansbrough-Jones’ creative styling is inspiration for the tough at heart:::::::::

You might think that the incredibly intricate detail that Sarah Burton put into the Alexander McQueen collection for spring 2012 would necessitate an ultra-realistic campaign. Something that would show that detail up close, put each tiny ruffle and bead under a microscopic lens. But not so: instead David Sims shoots Zuzanna Bijoch in a hazy dreamscape that plays to a mood more than anything else. Bijoch, haloed by light like some angelic figure, wears the collection’s intricate lace headpieces along with Burton’s flower-like ruffled gowns. Incredibly stunning :::::::::::::::

Studio Stalking: Rachel Roy's Glam Work Digs:::::::::::::

I absolutely admire Rachel Roy . Here is her Interview with Refinery 29 and also the snap shots of her studio, showroom in NYC.. I am Absolutely in Love with each detail of Showroom:::::::::::
@ Refinery29*

Rachel Roy's garments are immaculate: The cuts are neat, the colors bold, the styles universally flattering. So, naturally, we had to stop by her midtown showroom and office to look for SOME semblance of chaos in all that outward flawlessness. No such luck — all we could find were rows and rows of perfectly tailored separates, a design studio Parsons students would kill (or cheat) for, cupboards of brightly colored thread, a well curated bookshelf of glossy coffee-table books that could stock a small Phaidon store, and, of course, Rachel, sporting a stunning smile and dreamy outfits. It's not that Rachel isn't too busy to keep things tidy (she's got two young daughters, a new line of makeup, and a collection to finish before fashion week), but her excess of cool collectivity, poise, and effortless grace doesn't allow for anything like a mess. And yep, aside from the bright-and-neutral wardrobe, we'll also borrow some of that inner zen, if you don't mind.
