Industrial designers Yookyung Shin & Hanhsi Chen launched their first usb stick collection called Empty Memory last month. This jewelry collection focuses on the collision of technology and craftsmanship.Every single piece was casted in high-quality 316 stainless steel, hand-polished by craftsmen and finished with various colors. Each design contains a physical emptiness in its sculptural form, giving the metaphor that you can fill the space with your own memory.
Sharing the same interests about the collision of technology and craftsmanship, they ponder over the ultimate question ” what will happen if the technology becomes invisible. ”
They consider the Empty Memory collection as their first response to this long quest.The collection comes with two different designs – Structure and Transparency, which are the results of two different approaches regarding the same concept by each designer.The complicated shape of Structure can only be made with Lost-Wax Casting as an unibody.
After a long period of searching, one and only one manufacturer in Taiwan successfully achieved this high standard and this project is under production now...I heart It>>>
